Robert P. “Paul” Uber, age 76, of West Sunbury passed away at 2:24 P.M. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at St. John’s Specialty Care in Mars following an extended illness.

Paul was born June 26, 1939 in Butler, PA.  He was the son of the late Perry L. Uber and the late Dorothy D. McCaslin Uber.  He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.  He also was a member of Rider Lutheran Church.  Paul retired from Armco, now A.K. Steel, with forty one years of service. He also drove school bus for twenty years and BART bus for ten years. He enjoyed participating in car cruises, playing cards and most importantly his family.

Paul is survived by his wife, Katherine N. Borcz Uber, whom he married August 5, 1989, his children, Daniel Uber of Corsica, Donald(Colette)Uber of Butler, Bobbi Covert of East Butler, Joe P. Mehelich of Lyndora, Mechelle Richards of Butler and Renee(John)Keene of Chicora, twenty grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are three sisters, Joan(Dale)Hutchison of Butler, Marilyn Burrows of CA, and Carol(“Dadie”)Weir of CT, one brother Jack E.(Pat)Uber of OH and several nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Sheila Uber.

Friends will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 6 to 8 Friday, September 4, 2015.  Funeral services will follow at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Cynthia Baxter, his pastor, officiating.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury PA 16061 or to the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15209.

Uncle Paul I really enjoyed talking to you, You are a very caring man and I loved you so very much even though we were miles apart and I didn't get to see you much in my lifetime but thought of you often. May you Rest in Peace! Love from your Niece Candy

We just found out about Paul and was shocked. i wish I would have known Paul was at Mars, I could of went and visited with him and you. These are the things that happen when we don"t keep in touch. Ron and I will keep you in our prayers. If we can do anything to help you, please let us know.Have missed not seeing you and Paul, it"s been years.Take care and hope to keep in touch!
