Viola M. Yartz, age 79, of Butler passed away at 1:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Viola was born November 27, 1936 in Center Township, Butler County.  She was the daughter of the late H. Breaden Kiser and the late Norma Shakely Kiser.  Viola was a life member of the Rider Lutheran Church. She was a secretary for the Butler Area School District and the United States Patent Office in Boyers.


Viola is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Ann Porter, two sons, Braden Joseph Yartz and Kerry Robert Yartz all of Butler, a number  grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Also surviving are three sisters, Velma Blain, Cleo(Ron)Baxter and Isabel Bacher, all of Butler and one brother Paul(Renie)Kiser of West Sunbury and several nieces and nephews.

Viola was preceded in death by one son, Terence Yartz, three sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive friends at the Rider Lutheran Church from 11 to 1 Thursday, February 4, 2016.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Cynthia Baxter, officiating.

Burial will be in the Rider Cemetery.
