Janet K. Tebay Thompson, age 91 of Hooker  passed away December 7, 2016 at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Janet was born August 10, 1925 on her grandmother’s farm to the late Raymond Thomas Tebay and the late Anna Florence Cross Tebay. Janet worked from the age of sixteen for Dr. and Mrs. Vincent until the time of both of their passings.  She also worked for many years at  the Butler Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church for over fifty years.

Janet married Willis Thompson in 1950 and they together raised her sons, Lewis D. Morris and Robert E. Morris.  Janet lived on her prized farm after Willis’s passing in 1997 until shortly after her 90th birthday at which time she moved to the Orchard.  Janet looked forward to her sons visiting from Montana so that she could spend time on her farm.  Janet’s oldest son, Lewis D. Morris, preceded her in death in May of 2016 at which time she made her last of many journeys to Montana.

Janet is survived by one son, Robert E. Morris, and his wife, Donna Morris of Montana; and their son, Robert B. Morris and his two sons; an additional four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and Lewis’s daughters, Terrie Kolker and Tracy Kemp, and their five children.  One sister, Ethel Curry, of Zelienople, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Janet was also preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Webb, three brothers, DeWayne, Wilbert and William Tebay, and her friend, Herb Walters.

The family would like to give special thanks to Shelia and Lance Kauf for being such wonderful caregivers and friends as well as the nurses and staff at the Orchard.  Janet was well cared for and words can not express our gratitude.

Friends will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday, December 9, 2016 and from 10 until the time of service Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Concord Presbyterian Church.  Funeral services will follow 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Tom Clyde, interim pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the Concord Presbyterian Church.
