Verna I. Zedreck, age 89, of Butler, formerly of West Sunbury, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Verna was born August 14, 1927 in West Sunbury.  She was the daughter of the late Howard F. Allison and the late Jessie Mae Christy Allison.  Verna was a member of the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church and had been a postal clerk at the West Sunbury Post Office for over twenty years.

Verna is survived by two daughters, Joann Duke and Patricia(Gib)Brandon, both of West Sunbury; two sons, Robert(Carleen)Zedreck of McDonald, PA and Richard(Kim)Zedreck of Hilliards; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.  One sister, Pearl Stark, of New York and one brother, Charles Allison, of Ellwood City also survive.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, who passed away September 25, 2003, four brothers and three sisters.

The family will received friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from Noon to 2 Saturday, March 25, 2017. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jeffrey Lang, her pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the West Sunbury Senior Center, %West Sunbury Presbyterian Church, PO Box 106, West Sunbury PA 16061.

Our sympathy in the loss of Verna. She worked with our mother, Stella Pensy, at the West Sunbury Post Office. Oh the fun they had working there and also as friends going places. She was an example of a fine lady. May she rest in peace.
