C. Fred Allen, 76, of Slippery Rock passed away April 12, 2017 at Butler Memorial Hospital due to Wegener’s Disease.  He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Fred was born December 12, 1940 in Clay Township, Butler County.  He was the son of the late Gideon R. Allen and the late Anna D. McNeish Allen.  Fred served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War being stationed in Korea.  Fred retired from Armco, now AK Steel, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his family.  He was a member of the Butler Lodge 272, AASR Valley of New Castle Scottish Rite and the Syria Shriners.

Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Tarcha Allen, whom he married October 18, 1963, one daughter, Kelly S.(Justin)Huff of Slippery Rock; two sons, Frederick(Nichole)Allen and Matthew D. Allen, both of Slippery and four grandchildren, Alexis and Chase Allen and Ashton and Colton Huff.  Two sisters, Norma Cuffman and Sarah(William)Schultz, both of Butler also survive.

Fred was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Due to his wishes, services and burial were private.

We're so sorry for Fred's passing. We were friends in school and I (Arlene)rode the bus with Fred until he started driving. Don also went to school with Fred and worked at AK as well. Deepest Sympathy to the families.

We just found out about your dad, Kelly and family. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. We enjoyed seeing him at Ashton and Coltons birthday parties. He always made us feel welcome and we enjoyed talking with him. Kelly, sorry I haven't called you lately.

Sorry for your loss. I work with Fred at Armco and we we to some Syria shriner Fish dinner together. I was just thinking about him the other week. Fred was a great guy. He will be missed. Tom Smith
