Alice Louise McGee, age 84, of Zelienople, formerly of Boyers and Shadyside, passed away March 25, 2026, at Passavant Retirement Community. She was born on June 2, 1941 in Venango Township, Butler County, and the daughter of the late William Clark and Flora Mae (Seaton) McGee. Alice was a 1959 graduate of Concord High School and 1963 graduate of Presbyterian University Hospital School of Nursing. She was a pioneer in the advancement of nursing care in oncological, renal and cardiac medicine at Presbyterian Hospital until 1978. For the next 22 years, she served on the emergency room staff at Shadyside Hospital; finally working for Complete Intravenous Access Services until her retirement in 2013.
Alice was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh. She enjoyed the company of her dogs, gardening, traveling, and preparing oversized meals, especially her chicken marsala and oxtail soup, for friends and family. She was a dedicated caregiver, sharing her humorous insights and advocating for others until the end.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Flora and William McGee, her longtime and close companion Carl Mastandrea, and her brother Edgar McGee. She is survived by her son, Charles Swaim of Santa Fe, NM, her two nephews: William (Heather) McGee of Beavercreek, OH and Gregory (Karen) McGee of Skaneateles, NY, and her two great nieces Kyla (Jack) and Kaitlyn both of Columbus, OH.
A memorial service will be held at Seman’s Chapel, Passavant Community,105 Burgess Dr., Zelienople, 10:30 am, Saturday, May 2. Burial will be private in Old Annandale Cemetery.
