Amy Nagy Obituary

Amy Nagy, 56, of West Sunbury, passed away peacefully at home on April 20th, 2026 surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Butler on September 22, 1969, Amy was the beloved daughter of Karen (Kohlmeyer) Eshenbaugh and the late Charles Eshenbaugh, with whom she is now reunited. She was a proud graduate of Moniteau High School, class of 1987, and went on to pursue her passion for helping others. Amy earned her degree in psychology from Grove City College before continuing her education at Jameson School of Nursing and Slippery Rock University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She dedicated 31 years of her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, touching countless lives with her compassion and kindness.

Outside of her career, Amy found her greatest joy in the moments she shared with her family. She loved deep, heartfelt talks about life with Chance, shopping trips filled with laughter with her mom and Shayla, and spending time building puzzles with Chaz. She also looked forward to Justin’s home-cooked meals, often saying he “never cooked anything bad.” Family was everything to Amy. She treasured every second—whether it was a quick visit in the garage or a long, sunny day spent by the pool. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and in true Amy fashion, a proud “professional napper.”

She is lovingly survived by the love of her life, her husband, Justin Nagy, whom she married on February 5th, 1997. She was a devoted and proud mother to her three children, Chance (Lane) Nagy, Chaz Nagy, and Shayla Nagy, who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her loving mother, Karen, who was not only her parent but her closest friend and the first person she called each morning. She is further survived by her dear brothers, Kevin (Claudine) Eshenbaugh and Scott (Donna) Eshenbaugh, along with many beloved nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles. In addition, she shared a special bond with her dear uncle, Mike (Collette) Kohlmeyer.

We are sure that Amy and her dad, Charles are taking “off like a herd of turtles” in heaven.

Amy’s memory will live on in the stories we share, the laughter we hold onto, and the love she gave so freely to all of us. Family and friends will be received for a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday April 23, 2026 at William F. Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury where we will come together to share memories, laughter, and honor Amy’s life.

Burial will be held privately at West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
