Arthur James Renick, age 92, of West Sunbury passed away peacefully at his home with his daughter, Pamela, and Pastor Hindman by his side Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Art was born April 24, 1925 in Center Township, PA. He was the son of the late Paul Renick and the late Daisy Isadora Hockenberry Renick. Art graduated from Butler High School in 1943 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Capital University in 1952. He retired from Armco Steel where he worked in Hilltop Maintenance after forty five years of service. Art was a member of the Rider Lutheran Church where he served as teacher and was very active in the church. He loved gardening, growing Christmas trees and teaching others about health and wellness.
Art is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Larry(Pamela) Lehere of West Sunbury and Mrs. James(Sharon)Elter of Flemington, NJ; three step daughters, Carolyn(Richard)Rodgers of Chicora, Mrs. Ruth(Todd) Malinak of West Sunbury and Mrs. Susan(Dan) Quigley of SC; three step sons, William(Janet)Glasgow of Pittsfield, PA, Don(Diane)Glasgow of West Sunbury and Mark(Karen)Glasgow of Cranberry Township; two grandchildren, Nicole and Megan Elter, and many nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Louise Spohn Renick, who died April 19, 1981; his second wife Shirley Jean Kauffman Glasgow Renick, who died December 28, 2012; two daughters, Susan Renick, who died June 24, 1975 and Carol Renick, who died December 30, 1989; one grandson, Stephen Lehere, who died October 18, 2006; four brother, Bert, Horace, Raymond and Homers; two sisters, Cleora and Jane; one step son, Thomas Glasgow and one step daughter, Kathleen Glasgow White.
Friends will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Saturday, January 27, 2018.
Services are private with Pastor Dennis Hindman, family friend, officiating.
Private burial will be in the Rider Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Rider Lutheran Church.
