Braden Lemoyne Weitzel, 98, of Butler passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2022.
Braden was born on September 28, 1924 to Chester and Nora Weitzel. He was married to Violet (Holt) Weitzel in 1945 until her death in 2007. Braden was owner and operator of B.L. Weitzel Trucking for over 70 years. He began driving trucks at the age of 16 and continued to work well into his 90’s. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944-1946.
Braden enjoyed trucking but above all else loved being with his family, helping others, and will always be remembered for his generosity.
Braden is survived by his son, Braden (Lori) Weitzel II; three daughters: Mary Ellen Urban, Bradene (Michael) Kaltenbach, and Rae Weitzel; six grandchildren: Klaressa McGill, Braden (Carly) Weitzel III, Garrett (Tonya) Weitzel, Jacob, Faith, and Evan Kaltenbach; two great grandchildren: Jessica McGill and Mary Elizabeth (Jeff) Chapman; two great great grandchildren: Ryder John and Raelynn Violet Chapman; and many nieces and nephews.
Braden was preceded in death by his wife, Violet (Holt) Weitzel; his mother and father, Nora and Chester; his grandson, Todd Urban; son-in-law, John Urban; seven brothers: Clark, Ray, Clair, Arthur, Dwight, Victor, and Elton; two sisters: Gladys (Weitzel) Zanicky and Esther (Weitzel) Hunter; and two infant sons.
Family and Friends will be received for Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday November 18, 2022 at the William F Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday November 19, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor George Miller of Butler Assembly of God Church officiating.
Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery where Military Honors will be provided by the Butler Honor Guard.
