Daniel J. “Hayseed” Dellich, age 88, of Boyers passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 18, 2025 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
Dan was born on February 10, 1937 in Boyers as the son of the late John and Ruth (Safranic) Dellich. His laid-back approach to life and his quick wit made him well loved amongst the residents of Boyers.
Dan was a member of St. Faustina Parish. He worked at Pullman Standard until its closing and later owned and operated Dellich Trucking. He enjoyed a shared love of trucking and farming with his two boys, Danny and John, who will carry with them an abundance of happy memories and time spent with their Dad.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Katherine “Kay” (Pavolich) Dellich; his sons: Danny (Rachel) and John (Sarah); his three grandsons: Noah, Oliver, and Case; two sisters: Catherine Tilko of Butler and Ruth Ann Visniesky (John Somple) of Chicora; one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Dellich of Barkeyville; and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his first wife, Erma J. (Boyles) Dellich, and their three children, Denise, Daniel, and Jeffrey who all passed away June 3, 1969 as a result of an auto accident; his sister, Rose Bonetti; and his brothers, George, William “Bill”, Chester, and John.
Family and Friends will be received for Visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday March 20, 2025 at the William F Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury. A Catholic Blessing Service will be held at 8:00 pm at the funeral home with Father Sean Francis of St. Faustina Parish officiating.
Burial will be held Privately at Epiphany Cemetery Boyers Friday.
