Daniel “Dan” Swidzinski, age 71, of West Sunbury passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on December 12, 2025.
He was born on February 23, 1954 in Butler. He was the son of the late Adam and Betty (Kirk) Swidzinski.
Dan worked at Pullman Standard, Heckett, Armco and retired from AK Steel in May of 2016. He was a hard worker and known for his great work ethic. He loved to work, from the time he got up till the early evening. When he wasn’t working, he was thinking about his next project! In his younger years, he like to ski and traveled throughout the United States and internationally. He enjoyed his life. He loved his family, loved his dog Maggie, and loved taking care of his wife.
Dan was the beloved husband of Cyndi (Trufley) Swidzinski, whom he married on November 5, 2005; father of Jared (Melissa) Swidzinski of New Orleans and Abbie (Derek) Flinner of Prospect; Pappy of Piper, Eden, Patricia, Evelyn, and Celia; and brother of Elaine Westfall of Florida. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Barb Swidzinski, and his brother-in-law, Walt Cooper.
In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Robert Swidzinski and his sister, Jean Cooper.
A Celebration of Dan’s life will be held at a later date.
