The family of David Paul Casper announces with great sadness at age 84, David passed peacefully in his sleep at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born in Pittsburgh on October 4, 1941 to August Paul Casper Sr. and Mary (Bauer) Casper.
For 47 years, David owned and operated the family business, Casper’s Market, in East Butler. Throughout his life, David made the most of the time he had with the people he loved. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching Pirates baseball, doing crosswords, playing games, and spending time with his family. He was a faithful member of St. Faustina Parish, attending St. Louis Church in West Sunbury.
David was welcomed into the loving embrace of Heaven by his cherished daughter, Tracy, and his three brothers, August, Raymond, and Donald.
David leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Geralyn (Angert) Casper, whom he affectionately called “Petunia”; daughter, Amy Baptiste and her husband Lawrence and their children: Nicholas, Fontine, McKinley, August, Camille, Mathew, Annalyce, and Benjamin Baptiste; daughter, Diane Casper and her children Lejen, Rylan, and Carsen Warner.
Family and friends will be received for visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday July 10, 2026 at the William F. Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday July 11, 2026 at St. Louis Church, West Sunbury of St Faustina Parish officiated by Father Adam Verona and Father Chuck Baptiste con-celebrating. Everyone please meet at church.
Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chicora will be held privately Monday July 13, 2026.
