David Reed Morgan

David Reed Morgan of Butler, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in his home on July 13th, 2022 at the age of 67 after a courageous 26 month battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer, surrounded by his beloved family.

Dave was born on April 6th, 1955 in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was the son of late Daniel Morgan and Doris (Vensel) Morgan. 

Dave was a 1973 graduate of Butler High School.  He retired in 2019 after 45 years of employment from Columbia Broadcasting System. 

He had a passion for riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and exploring new places with his wife. He enjoyed going on vacations to the beach with his family and will be remembered for always making everyone smile and laugh when they were around him. 

Dave is survived by his loving wife Irene, whom he adored. 

He is lovingly remembered by his step-children, who he thought of as his own, April (Dan) Bittner of Chesapeake VA, James Cottrill, Jr. of West Sunbury PA, his two grandchildren Jackson and Mallory, who gave him the proud title of “PeePaw”, and two furry grandchildren Rigsby and Lemieux. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Morgan, his daughter-in-law Trista Cottrill, and his two grand-dogs Lily and Lucy. 

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 18th at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. 

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19th. Burial will follow at West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
