Dennis Baird Obituary
Dennis J. “Sam” Baird, age 59, of West Sunbury passed away Friday January 19, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Sam was born August 4, 1958 in Butler, PA. He was the son of the late Duwayne Louis Baird, Sr. and the late Doris Jean Beachem Baird. Sam had been employed at AK Steel in Mill Maintenance. He was a diehard Pittsburgh Pirate fan, loved fishing, watching the wildlife, the outdoors and going to camp.
Sam is survived by his son, Samuel D. Baird, and his wife Stormie, of Hilliards and two grandsons, Jack and Henry. One sister, Deborah J. Baird of West Sunbury and one brother, Richard L. “Big Dick” Baird, and his wife Diane, of West Sunbury and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Sam was preceded in death by one brother, Duwayne L. Baird, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, West Sunbury from 6 to 8 Monday, January 22, 2018. At Sam’s request please dress casual in your favorite Pittsburgh Pirate gear. A memorial service will follow at 8:00 P.M. with Pastor Tom Pesci, family friend, officiating.
Private burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
