Dennis George Wallace

Dennis “George” Wallace, age 71, of Harrisville passed away unexpectedly Sunday August 6, 2023 at West Penn Hospital.

George was born May 28, 1952 in Grove City to the late James Patrick Wallace, Sr. and the late Josephine Sylvia Anderson Wallace.  George proudly served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam being stationed in Thailand.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury and attended the Boyers Methodist Church.  George retired as a high lift operator from Mercer Lime and Stone following 43 years of service.  

George is survived by his wife, Jackie Double Wallace, whom he married October 20 1990, three daughters Robin, Tina and Amy; one son, Douglas E. (Amanda) Wallace of Grove City and one granddaughter, Lucy Sue Wallace.  Also surviving are two sisters, Esther (Isaiah “Ike”) Williams of Butler and Judy (John Henry) Williams of Butler; two brothers, Gary N. “Ding” Wallace of Butler and Douglas (Jennifer) Wallace of Butler, numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, his Husky Maverick.

George was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.

Family and friends will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 11 to 1:30 Wednesday, August 9, 2023.  Funeral services will follow at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Williard Morse officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Varnum Cemetery.
