Eric L. Campbell

Eric L. Campbell, age 61, of Knotts Island North Carolina passed away at his home Sunday August 31, 2025 after a short illness. His final week was spent at the Longshot Hunt Club on Knotts Island. 

He was born on November 25, 1963 in Butler, PA to the late John "Jack" and Martha (Murray) Campbell and grew up in North Washington, PA.  In his youth, he played baseball for Washington Twp., where his Dad was his coach. He later graduated from Moniteau High School class of 1982. A carpenter by trade, he spent the last several years working with his good friend, Ralph Davis. His brother, Kevin, and sister-in-law, Janet were helping to care for him with physical therapy as he was looking forward to getting back to work. 

Eric loved being outdoors- hunting, fishing, boating and using his talents to make outdoor wooden furniture. His place was the local hangout that was affectionately named "Eric's Hangover Alley". He enjoyed entertaining for Sunday football games and NASCAR races and would cook like crazy for those days and the Holidays too.  Eric made friends easily and had many of them with him all of the time.  He had a very kind heart and would do what he could so that everyone would have a good time.  He would give the shirt off his own back and help anyone he could.  He often stood back, quietly observing the group and making sure everyone was cared for.  His thoughtful actions ensured that everyone always felt supported and had what they needed.  

He will be missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him, especially for his unwavering generosity and warm smile.  

He is survived by his brothers: Kevin (Janet) with whom he lived, Mark (Bev) of Emlenton, PA, Kim of Hilliards, PA, and Jay of Clarion County, PA; his sister, Kathy (Tom) Farrelly of Cayuga, NY; two maternal aunts, Carolyn Murray and Shirley Rossey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A Celebration of Eric L Campbell's life will be held October 11, 2025 at Longshot Hunt Club in Knotts Island, North Carolina. 

Per Eric's request, cremation services were provided by Twiford Funeral Home and Albemarle Crematorium in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
