Harry L. Benson III

Harry L. Benson III, 71, of Slippery Rock passed away Tuesday August 24, 2021 surrounded by his family.  

Harry was born on September 14, 1949 in Pittsburgh as a son of the late Harry L. Benson Jr. and late Marion Zoe (Conner) Campbell.

Harry loved his job working as a construction Engineer for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His other passion in life was raising Belgian Draft Horses.

Harry is survived by one son: Harry L. Benson IV of Slippery Rock; one daughter: Lori (Marty) Morrison of Forestville; five grandchildren: Ashley, Mikayla, Kyle, Kelly, and Ryan; one brother in law: Jeff McCool of Union City and his two daughters and one son; and one sister in law Marilyn Waddell of Gibsonia.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Connie (Waddell) Benson; an infant sister; and his sister Marion “Emy” McCool.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday August 27, 2021 at the William F Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury PA 16061. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday August 28, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
