Irene M (Vittu) Kiser

Irene M. “Renie” Kiser, age 93 of West Sunbury Center Twp. died on Saturday September 23, 2023 at the Advanced Care Center in Butler Twp.

Irene was born September 27, 1929 in a log house ather family farm in the Highfield neighborhood of Butler.  She was the daughter of the late Frank Vittu and Maria Blaha Vittu. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Paul H. Kiser; two sons, Brian (Wendy) Kiser and Karl (Carol) Kiser; Three Grandchildren, Paul D. (Jacky) Kiser, Kirstin Valensky, and Edward (Hanna) Kiser; and one Great Grandchild, Marshall Kiser.  A second Great Grandchild is due Nov. 6th.  

Renie was preceded in death by her two sisters, Barbara Kudika and Mitzi Hohn.  

Irene worked at Paul Wolf’s photography studio in Butler and then operated Kiser’s dairy with her husband until 1976.  She was very active at Rider Lutheran Church in West Sunbury where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and always helped in social events.  Irene was a great cook and homemaker and friend to those in her community.  She was known for her big loving smile and was considered a mother to everyone.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00AM at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, Pa. on Saturday October 14, 2023.  The Reverend Dennis R. Hindman Sr. will officiate.  A church sponsored luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. All are invited to attend the service and or share your memories over the luncheon.
