Irvin Nail Obituary

Irvin Samuel Nail, 81, of Hilliards passed away peacefully at home on his family farm the evening of Sunday October 23, 2022 surrounded by his family. 

Irvin was born on March 27, 1941 on the family farm as the son of the late Ralph F. Nail and late Ruth A. (Boyle) Nail. 

Irvin was a Veteran of the US Army. He retired from C&K Coal and later worked for Hickman Lumber for 10 years.    He attended East Unity Church and was a member of the Hilltop Beagle Club.  He enjoyed running beagles and coonhounds and loved taking care of his grandkids in retirement. 

Irvin is survived by his wife, Edith M. (Blair) Nail, whom he married on December 17, 1965; three sons: Samuel B. (Maria) Nail of Parker, David L. (Janie) Nail of Hilliards, and Daniel C. Nail (Heather) of Hilliards; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Parsons, of Scrubgrass Township; one brother, Ralph Nail, of Parker; and many nieces and nephews.  Irvin was a loving father and grandfather and was a very hardworker.  He will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him. 

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the family farm on Wednesday October 26, 2022.
