Jack D. Thompson

Jack D. Thompson, 72, of Petrolia passed away Friday December 9, 2022.

Born on August 25, 1950 in Grove City, Jack was the son of the late Charles S. Thompson and late Shirley M. Donaldson.

Jack retired from a lifelong career at Slippery Rock University as a Boiler Operator.  He was a life member of the Valley Dam Sportsman’s Snowmobile Association.  He was a very accomplished hunter, fisherman, and trapper and recently had a successful deer hunt in Saskatchewan.  Jack loved to be in the outdoors and enjoyed gardening. 

Jack is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Rosalie Ann (Johnson) Thompson; his daughter, Marla Bodnar and her wife Jacqueline A Solada, of Butler; two granddaughters: Alisha (John) Michael and Kelsey Bodnar (Fiancée Jordan Ruby); two great grandchildren: Layla and Mason Michael; his twin sister Jill (Edward) Geidner of Grove City; three brothers: P. Kevin (Deborah) Thompson of Boyers, Scott K. Thompson of Petrolia, and Clyde Martsolf of Chardon Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. 

Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Ann, who passed away June 7, 1982.

Family and Friends will be received for Visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday December 11, 2022 at the William F Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday December 12, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Maitland of First Baptist Church in Butler Officiating. 

Private Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
