James Patrick Wallace Jr., 80, of Butler passed away unexpectedly March 15, 2022 at Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on April 2, 1941 in Clay Township the son of the late James P. Wallace Sr. and Josephine Sylvia (Anderson) Wallace.
Jim retired from Slippery Rock University as a boiler operator. He had previously worked at Pullman Standard for 19 years and Bill Riddle Construction. He also worked at Suncrest Golf Course. Jim was an avid Turkey Hunter and was the caretaker of Mt. Varnum Cemetery.
Jim is survived by his daughter Theresa Morrow and her husband, Douglas, of Karns City; his son Timothy Wallace and his wife, Barbara, of Chicora; three grandchildren: Kristy Hershey, Kelly Morrow, and Brandon Wallace; two great grandchildren, Dean Hershey III and Kameron Hershey; and a son and daughter: Robert Kummer of Butler and Jamie Heller of Slippery Rock; and six grandchildren: Adam, Blake, Stephen, Ethan, Chaz, and Derrick. He is also survived by two sisters: Mrs. Esther (Isaiah) Williams and Mrs. Judy (John Henry) Williams both of Butler; and three brothers: Gary “Ding” Wallace of Butler, Douglas (Jennifer) Wallace of Butler, and George (Jackie) Wallace of Harrisville.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Kathy; six brothers; one sister; and two grandbabies.
Family and Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 pm Friday March 18, 2022 at the William F. Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 am Saturday March 19, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Benson officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Varnum Cemetery.
