José Galura Obituary
José S. Galura, age 86, of Butler formerly of Newtown, PA passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
José was born December 19, 1931 in Bacolor, Pampanga, Philippines. He was the son of the late Valeriano Hernandez and the late Maria de los Santos Galura. José was the founder and former President and CEO of Philadelphia Health Services. He attended the United Church of the Nazarene in West Sunbury.
José is survived by his wife, Esther Moon Galura, whom he married September 25, 1965; one son, Brett L. Galura, and his wife, Michele, of Falls Church, VA and three grandchildren, Madeleine, Sydney and Lance. Also surviving are three sisters, Estela Marin, of Las Vegas, NV, Florentina Galura, of Manila, Philippines and Clara Estaris of Baguio City, Philippines and one brother Constantino Galura, and his wife, Melendrina, of Bensenville, IL.
José was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfonzo and Gaudencio Galura, and three sisters, Eufemia Doyle, Apolinaria Simeon and Lucia Tan.
Family and friends will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 10 to 11 AM Friday, June 1, 2018. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with the Rev. Tim Britton, of the United Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
