Loretta Ann Lendyak, age 88, of Slippery Rock entered the Church triumphant the evening of Tuesday September 16, 2025.
She was born on February 15, 1937 in Center township as the daughter of the late Merle G. and Melva Althea (Walls) Boosel.
Loretta was a musician most of her life, alongside her late husband Bud, with their band Loretta Ann and the Silvertones. She will lovingly be remembered as a Legend with her musical talents. She was a member of the West Sunbury American Legion and the former owner of Maples Tavern in Barkeyville. She and Bud travelled cross-country long-haul truck driving for many years. She enjoyed services at God’s Country in Butler. She enjoyed camping with her grandchildren, boating, fishing, and most of all cherishing time with her family and beloved friends.
She is survived by her children: Von (Lynda) McCommons of Slippery Rock, Merylann “Sis” (Bill) Barton of Kennerdell, and Ben (Terry) McCommons, of Slippery Rock; twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her mother & father; the love of her life, her husband of 55 years, Mitchell “Bud” Lendyak; her sister, Mary Lou Hall-Hoover, and one great grandchild, Robbie Smith.
Memorial Visitation will be held Sunday October 26, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at God’s Country of Crossfire Church 1802 N Main Street Ext. Butler.
A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Harris of Kennerdell Church of God officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Butler 1802 N Main Street Ext. Butler, PA 16001.
