Marilyn C. (Soisson) Kummer, age 79, of Butler, formerly of Hookstown, PA passed away suddenly Tuesday March 26, 2024 at home.
Born on June 11, 1944 in East Liverpool, Ohio, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Carl O. Soisson Jr. and late Jean (Crooks) Soisson.
She graduated from Southside Beaver High School in 1962 and later went on to Edinboro State College graduating in 1966 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught at Portersville Elementary School and later was a substitute teacher at Moniteau School District. She was a devoted homemaker.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, James R. Kummer; one daughter, Luann (Thomas) Hasychak of Saegertown; one son: Wesley Kummer of Butler; two grandsons: Thomas and Andrew Hasychak, both of Saegertown. She is also survived by two sisters: Evelyn Shaffer and Emily (Jason) Allison; and one brother: Ted (Florance) Soisson all of Hookstown; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Family and Friends will be received for Visitation from 10:00 am -1:00 pm Friday March 29, 2024 at the William F Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury. A Funeral Service will be held following visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with the Reverend Mark S. Davis HR, of the West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial in Mt. Chestnut Cemetery.
