Nancy Edna Shawl, 77, of West Sunbury passed away Friday June 22, 2018 at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Nancy was born on November 30, 1940 in Perry Township to the late Wilmer Jordan and Sadie Cooper Jordan. She was a member of the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church where she was the President of the Ladies Aide. Nancy loved to cook, quilt, crochet, and be with her grandkids. She taught Sunday School and was a former president of the Band Parents. She also was a member of the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Moniteau Extension Group, the Quilt Club, and the Quilter’s Guild of Scrubgrass. Nancy made quilts and sewed many things for support of the Moniteau Food Pantry and she lovingly made many prayer shawls.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Victor J Shawl; four daughters, Shari Dillon of Warren, OH, Lori Shawl of West Sunbury, Leah (Gary) Plunkard of West Sunbury, Bobbie Vance and fiancé Tom Hutchison of Butler; five grandchildren: Ryan and Andrew Dillon and Autumn, Laurel, and Jordan Plunkard; one brother, Forrest (Bonnie) Jordan, and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Duane Jordan, and one infant granddaughter.
Family and friends of Nancy E. Shawl will be received at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Sunday June 24, 2018 and from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am Monday June 25, 2018 at West Sunbury Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeffrey Lang, her pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
