Paul S. Critchlow, 88, of Butler passed away at his home the evening of Friday March 11, 2022 after a short illness.
Paul was born on June 21, 1933 in Cherry Township, Butler Co. as the son of the late H. Greer Critchlow and Edith Elnora (Scott) Critchlow. Paul was very proud that his parents, raised and fostered 58 children at their home in West Sunbury where Moniteau High School now sits.
Paul was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler and worked as an Insurance Broker for his own Insurance Business for over 60 years. He was very proud of his business and the life he built from the ground up.
Paul loved to play golf and held many golfing fundraisers for local organizations. He loved his Model A and was a huge sports fan, espeically the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a World Wide Traveler and enjoyed his time sitting on the deck with his Wife and his dog, Turbo the 5th, who was his best friend. He loved making wine and started a successful wine club in Butler. He enjoyed drinking his wine with his family and friends. Paul’s strength led him to fight and beat cancer. Most of all, Paul was a loving and caring man who stood by his own word and handshakes meant a lot to him.
Paul was the dedicated Husband of his wife, Phyllis Ann (DeLancey) Critchlow, of Butler; also survived by three daughters: Angel (Kurt) Siegfried of Ohio, Suzette Critchlow of Florida, and Antrese (Chris) Critchlow-Wood of Ohio; two sons: Todd (Kim) Critchlow and Darin (Valerie) Critchlow, both of Georgia; one step-daughter, Carla Bowser (Brittani Sabich); ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also suriviving is one sister, Louella (Dale) Weigle of Valencia; two brothers, Robert (Carmella) Critchlow of Butler and George (Shirley) Critchlow of Florida.
Paul was preceded in death by two sisters.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday March 17, 2022 at the William F. Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Edmundson, officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery where Marine Military Honors will be provided by Bantam Marine Det #743.
