Raymond Snyder Obituary

Raymond R. Snyder, age 70, of Butler passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a more than ten year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Ray was born May 20, 1948 in Grove City, PA.  He was the son of the late W. Edgar Snyder and the late Ruth L. Byers Snyder.  Ray retired with thirty five years of service from Armco Steel.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and classic TV shows.  Ray was of the Presbyterian faith.

Ray is survived by his wife, Patricia D. Ekis Snyder, whom he married October 16, 1970; one daughter, Mandy D. Blank, and her husband, Edward of Butler; one son, Sean R.Snyder, of Cranberry Township; one grandson, Kenneth A. Blank and one granddaughter Brittany D. Blank both of Butler.  Two brothers, Thomas C.(Rose) Snyder and Carl H.(Beverly)Snyder, both of Butler and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Ray was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald, and an infant brother.

The family will receive friends at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday, May 25, 2018.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 26, 2018 with Pastor Dennis Hindman officiating.

Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
