Robert E. Brown

Robert E. Brown, age 83, lifelong resident of West Sunbury passed away the morning of September 25, 2024.

Born on December 18, 1940 in West Sunbury, he was the son of the late Ronald Johnston and Hazel Brown.

He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and retired from Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad after 31 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting. He lived for driving tractors and mowing hay on the farm.

Bob is survived by his two daughters: Christine (Donald) Stewart of West Sunbury and Tina Porter of West Sunbury; three step daughters: Lea (Rick) Stalker of Hilliards, Kelley (Tom) Carr of Boyers, and Lisa Padilla of Texas; and two step sons: Scott Reges of Eau Claire and Billy (Julie) Reges of Emlenton. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Nikki Brown, Melissa Marburger, Megan Confer, Derek Stewart, and Amber Overly; fourteen great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one sister, Linda (Don) Kelly of Bruin, one brother, Kirby (Cassie) Johnston of West Sunbury; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy A. (Wyant) Brown; his second wife, Kathyrn (Hughes) Brown; his son, David Brown; his grandson, Billy Brown; one sister, and two brothers. 

Family and Friends will be received for Visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 Friday September 27, 2024 at the William F. Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury. Additional Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 Saturday September 28, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Mark S. Davis HR officiating. 

Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.
