Ruby Elder Obituary
Ruby Marie (Thompson) Elder, 93, of West Sunbury passed away Sunday January 3, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Ruby was born on February 19, 1927 in West Sunbury as the daughter of the late James Franklin Thompson and late Lilly Annis (Tinker) Thompson.
She was a member of West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church and lifetime member of the West Sunbury VFD Auxiliary. She retired from Mack’s Chicken Farm and later drove bus and worked at Thompson’s Market.
Ruby is survived by two sons: Thomas C. (Ruth) Elder of West Sunbury and J. Dale (Cindy) Elder of West Sunbury; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Elder, who passed away April 19, 1994; her daughter Anna M. Kozak; and one brother.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday January 9, 2021 at the William F. Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury, PA 16061. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Britton of the West Sunbury United Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Burial will be in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
