Russell "Rock-N-Roll" Johnson Obituary

On Sunday evening June 15, 2025, Russell E. Johnson or as most know him, Rock-N-Roll departed this world to be with his Ol’ Lady Anna Johnson.

Rock-N-Roll was born on July 12, 1939 in New Castle Pa. He enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17 and was honorably discharged after 20 years of service as a Radioman, First Class Petty Officer. During his time he was stationed on seven ships and sailed seven seas. His favorite place that he was stationed was Germany. During his time, he served in Vietnam from 1971 to 1973. He received numerous awards and medals, however he was most proud of his Navy Achievement Award. After Navy retirement he worked at Koppers for several years. When he was a wild child, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going on tour with his wife. He enjoyed hosting football and horseshoe games, holidays and cookouts. Their house was the place to be for a good time on any given night. Later in life he enjoyed shooting the breeze with anyone and  everyone, taking a ride around town, or ordering a pizza at least once a week. His caregiver and friend Jessica became family over the past year and he would talk her into  taking him gallivanting wherever he wanted and he usually ended with a Big Mac. He also enjoyed spending time with his son taking rides in the car, listening to rock and roll, watching a football game, or just talking about nothing. Rock-N-Roll leaves behind his best friend and son Russell Dean Johnson, two granddaughters Alisha and Denny Ashcraft, and Cheianne and James Callen. And two great grandchildren Skylar Callen and Colt Russell Ashcraft. He is survived by two sisters Kay and Nancy. He also leaves behind a long time companion Darr Johnson as well as his beloved fur baby Lugnutt.

Rock-N-Roll will be missed, but his quick wit,  continuous humor and his corny pickup lines will never be forgotten. “Keep on rocking in the free world and God Bless”
