Samuel R. Juracko Jr., age 75, of Clay Township formerly of the Northside of Pittsburgh passed away at his home March 28, 2025 after an extended illness.
Born on December 3, 1949 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Barb (Furrer) Juracko.
Sam was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during Vietnam aboard the USS James E. Kyes DD-787. He returned home to serve in the US Army Reserves for 7 years. He later retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Pittsburgh. He was a longtime member of the West Sunbury American Legion Post 243, the VFW, the Elks Club, and Boy Scouts where he was an Eagle Scout alongside his brothers.
Sam is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen E. (Lape) Juracko; two daughters: Samantha (John) Arlet and Theresa Juracko; five grandchildren: Haley (Brad) Manjack, Maisie, John, and Mya Arlet, and Evan Juracko; and one great granddaughter, Norah May Manjack. He is also survived by his brothers: Fran (Jill), Dave (Gerry), Joe (Sarah), and Paul (Dorothy) Juracko and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard (Barb) Juracko.
Family and Friends will be received for Visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday April 1, 2025 at the William F Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury 16061. Funeral Services and Burial will be held Privately.
