Sandra “Sandy” Ramine (Bloom) Weston, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025, at Orchard Manor in Grove City, PA. Born on March 27, 1941, in Clearfield, PA, Sandy was the daughter of the late Norman George Bloom and Ruth (Schandelmeier) Bloom. She grew up in Houtzdale, PA, before moving to Butler County in the early 1960s, where she lived in Boyers and later West Sunbury.
On October 21, 1960, Sandy married William “Ned” Weston, who preceded her in death in 2014. Together, they raised three children: Todd Weston, Terry Weston, and Tracy Tyler. Sandy was a proud and loving grandmother to eight grandchildren and their significant others: Angie Marshall and her husband, Cody; Alan Weston and his wife, Jeanette; Heather Weston; Delaney Campbell and her fiancé, Charlie; Coty Weston and his wife, Shelby; Alexander Tyler; Danica Tyler; and Dane Tyler, as well as seven great-grandchildren: James, Kaden, Christian, Everleigh, Maya, Benton, and Rowan. She was also dearly loved by her siblings: N. George Bloom and his wife Barbara, and Norma Sturm, along with many nieces and nephews.
Sandy’s legacy is one of kindness, creativity, and selflessness. She was known for her artistic talents, enjoying painting, sewing, crafting, ceramics, and playing the piano. Her beautiful voice also graced the choir at her church, the United Presbyterian Church in West Sunbury, where she was a member for many years. Sandy was an avid animal lover, and enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and canning, camping, and walking. Sandy, most of all, cherished the time spent with her beloved family. A gifted cosmetologist, Sandy attended cosmetology school in State College and went on to open her own salon in her home in Boyers, where she worked for many years. She also worked at Mar-Jays in the Butler Mall during the 1970s and later co-owned the Salon of Beauty in Butler until her retirement. Sandy’s warmth, caring heart, and listening ear touched the lives of many, and she was always willing to put others’ needs before her own.
Preceded in death by her daughter Terry, husband, parents, sister, a niece, and a nephew, Sandy’s family and friends will forever remember her for the love, light, and grace she brought into their lives.
A memorial service to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held closer to the summer with details to follow. The family invites all those whose lives were touched by her to join in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family’s chosen charity, details of which will be announced at the memorial service.
Sandy will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all whose lives she touched.
The Young Family of William F Young Funeral Home, West Sunbury has been entrusted with cremation services.
