Shirley Ann (McCloud) Anderson

Shirley Ann (McCloud) Anderson, 81, of Butler, PA, passed away at 6:02 A.M. on January 18, 2025 at AHN Grove City Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 25, 1943 in Beaver County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alva McCloud and the late Hattie (Holliday) McCloud. She retired after working 31 years at Magnetics. Shirley attended St. John’s United Methodist Church, where she was involved in outreach committees. She was a member of the Aebersold Recreation Center at Slippery Rock University where she enjoyed swimming. She was an avid traveler with her family and friends and enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Shirley is survived by her sons: James A. (Karen) Anderson, Jr. of Slippery Rock, PA and Daniel A. Anderson of Bunker Hill, WV; two grandchildren, Kirby (Erica) Anderson and Jamie (Alex) Despines; three great-grandchildren, Beckett and Aurora Anderson and Theo Despines; her brother, Howard (Marilyn) McCloud, of New Castle, PA; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years: James A. Anderson Sr; two brothers: Russ McCloud and Paul McCloud; one sister: Margaret McCloud Grossman; daughter-in-law, Tracy Anderson; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Kayla Anderson.

Family and friends will be received for visitation from 3-6 pm Friday January 24, 2025 at the William F Young Funeral Home, 132 Main Street West Sunbury. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with her pastor, Earl Dykes, officiating.

Private Burial will be at the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
