Steve Sprowl Obituary

Steve Sprowl, born May 25, 1960, in Akron, Ohio, passed away on January 19, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved son of Joyce and the late George Sprowl and lived a life defined by devotion to family, hard work, and a deep love of the outdoors.

Steve was a loving and devoted husband for 43 years to his wife, Evelyn, with whom he built a life full of love, laughter, and shared memories. He was a proud and caring father to his son, Nicolas, and his daughter, Amanda. Nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his family, especially his treasured granddaughters, Adalyn and Madalyn, who held a very special place in his heart.

Deer hunting was more than a hobby for Steve—it was a passion and a way of life. He eagerly awaited deer season each year and cherished every moment spent at the farm, in the woods, and in his tree stand. Hunting trips were sacred time for him, whether shared with his son or enjoyed alongside his hunting buddies. He took pride in the tradition of hunting, the patience it required, and the lessons it taught, often saying the best part wasn’t the harvest, but the memories made and time spent together. Many of his favorite stories were born from early mornings, quiet woods, and long days tracking deer.

Steve also found joy riding his four-wheeler through the countryside, reliving stories from past hunts, and planning the next season. The outdoors was where he felt most at peace.

He was also proud of his professional accomplishments, most notably his time serving as Divisional Vice President of Chi-Chi’s Restaurant, a role that reflected his strong leadership and dedication.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Evelyn; his son, Nick (Lori) Sprowl; his daughter, Amanda (Gary) Newhard; his beloved granddaughters, Adalyn and Madalyn; his mother, Joyce Sprowl; and his sisters, Laurel and Phyllis. He was preceded in death by his father, George Sprowl, and his grandfather, Horton, whom he will reunite with in eternal life.

Steve will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, love of deer hunting and the outdoors, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the traditions he passed down.
