Thomas M. Prorok

The morning of October 24, 2017 is the day that our loving father, Thomas M. Prorok, took his last breath.  We will miss the twinkle in his eye that always let us know that the big tease was in play.  Dad loved his family immensely, and he was never more than a minute away from making us laugh.   For many years he had his own business: Tom’s Body Shop.  Retiring from autobody work freed him to become the Marion Township Tax Collector for twenty years.  In this way, Tom was able to meet many of the good folks of the township.  Before moving to Marion Township, Tom (with his wife Wanda) served for many years the Democratic Committee of Shaler Township in Allegheny County.  

Tom is preceded in death by his parents.  He was born April, 13, 1933 as the youngest child of Martin Prorok of Tresniow, Poland and Dobromil, Ukraine and Victoria Skrok Prorok of Przykop, Mielec, Poland.  They were part of the great migration in the early 1900s and met in Pittsburgh.  Tom is preceded in death by the love of his life, Verna Wanda Wood Prorok as well as his grandson, Tyler Prorok.  He siblings also preceded him; Stella (Prorok) Petrykowski, Marion Prorok, and Genevieve Prorok.

Surviving are his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren;  Carol Prorok, Marty Prorok, Cindy Prorok, Tom Prorok, Ted Prorok, and Bart Prorok, Amanda, Garrett, Matthew, Theodore, Carson, Ryan, Jessica, Ashley, Emily, Madilyn, Kaitee, Gavin and Max.  We all will cherish our memories with you.  

No service is planned at this time, but those who would like to commemorate Tom can do so by donating to charities he has supported:  the Fraternal Order of Police, the Korean War Veterans Association, the WWII Memorial, or the Arbor Day Foundation.
