Walter "Sonny" E. Fleeger

Walter E. “Sonny” Fleeger, 81, of West Sunbury peacefully passed away the morning of November 25, 2022 in the comfort of his home. 

Sonny was born on June 19, 1941 in Butler as the son of the late Walter C. Fleeger and late Sara M. Chippi Fleeger.

Sonny was a Veteran of the US Army and was employed as a welder.  He enjoyed farming, working with his hands, and fixing cars. 

Sonny is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeannette Simmons Fleeger; his son, Justin (Candice) Fleeger of Harrisville and their expected son Baby Boy Fleeger to be born in January; his son, Sonny James Fleeger, of Butler, and his children; one sister; two brothers; one brother in law; two sisters in law; several nieces and nephews; and many Aunts and Uncles including Aunt Verneita and Uncle Don Simmons who helped take care of Sonny. 

Sonny was preceded in death by one sister, two brother, and his father and mother in law, Bob and Robby Simmons. 

Family and Friends will be received for visitation from 1:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday November 27, 2022 at the William F Young Funeral Home 132 Main Street West Sunbury.  Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Marshall officiating. 

Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sonny’s family for expenses.
